A successful download starts with the right source and ends with a file you can actually find. Use this reference to check links, understand the available format and choose the next step when something goes wrong.
A social post, profile or player URL opens a webpage. A direct media URL returns a file. These can look similar, and an address ending in .mp4 is only a clue: the server still has to provide supported media. InstaxVideo checks the source before offering a download.
The current service accepts approved direct HTTPS sources. It does not turn an arbitrary website into a downloadable file. Public visibility alone is not enough; you need to own the media or have permission to save it. Private links, account credentials, login sessions and protected streams are outside this flow.
If a condition is missing, use the creator’s original file or an authorized option offered by the source. Instagram, Facebook and YouTube downloads are currently unavailable through InstaxVideo; their guides below explain the different account and export options.
A direct link supplies one existing file. Original means the downloader preserves that supplied file; it does not establish whether the video is 480p, 720p or 1080p. Resolution describes the picture’s dimensions, while compression and the original recording also affect how it looks.
| Available source | What you receive | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 video | The original supported MP4 file | A player must support the codecs inside the file. |
| WebM or MOV video | The original supported video file | Check your intended player or editor’s format support. |
| MP3, M4A, OGG or WAV audio | An existing permitted direct audio file | The source must already supply the audio separately. |
| A webpage, playlist or segmented stream | No file from the current direct-link flow | Find an approved original or use an authorized source option. |
InstaxVideo does not transcode, upscale, combine separate tracks or extract MP3 from video. Renaming a file extension does not convert its contents. When another format is essential, obtain a suitable original from the creator instead of relying on an unavailable quality option.
The current website caps browser transfers at 200 MiB (209,715,200 bytes). The source must report a valid file size; an unknown, empty or oversized result cannot proceed. This is a transfer limit, not a promise that every device can comfortably handle a file near that size.
Keep free storage beyond the reported file size and avoid starting duplicate copies. The web flow receives the completed file before handing it to the browser, so device memory also matters. A long video is not always larger than a short one: bitrate, duration and compression all contribute.
If your source is too large, ask for a smaller permitted original or use its own download facility. The quality selector cannot compress a direct file. Before retrying a failed transfer, check whether an earlier copy already reached your Downloads folder.
The browser follows its configured download location, commonly Downloads on a computer. A custom folder or save-location prompt takes priority. InstaxVideo cannot silently choose a different folder.
Open the browser’s Downloads list to check the file’s status and location. A completed transfer on this page can still be waiting for your response to a save prompt.
The current Android app saves new completed files in the phone’s public Downloads folder. Open that folder in a file manager, or open a completed entry from the app.
The history entry and saved file are separate. Clearing history does not delete your files. Files created by an older app version may still be in its earlier storage location.
The website and APK do not create a synchronized cloud library. A file downloaded on your computer will not automatically appear on your phone. Keep the original source reference separately if you may need to obtain the media again.
If you need help, contact InstaxVideo support with the visible error, device details and source hostname. Say whether the failure happened during checking, transfer or playback. Do not include private URLs, passwords or signed transfer tokens.
It is an HTTPS address that returns a media file rather than a webpage with a player. The source must also be approved by InstaxVideo, and you must own the media or have permission to download it. A filename extension alone does not establish those conditions.
Yes. Paste your approved source into the downloader at the top of this page, confirm permission and check the result. Then select the available original format and start the transfer. You can also try the original InstaxVideo sample here.
Your browser uses its configured download location, commonly Downloads on a computer. If a save prompt appears, choose a location to finish. The website cannot override those preferences; check the browser’s Downloads list if the file is hard to find.
The current InstaxVideo Android app saves new completed files in the phone’s public Downloads folder. Find them in a file manager or open a completed entry from the app. Clearing the app’s history does not delete the downloaded files.
A direct link supplies one existing file. Original means that InstaxVideo keeps that supplied format; it is not a claim about resolution. The downloader does not generate an HD version, smaller quality variants or an MP3 soundtrack from a video.
The current browser download flow accepts files up to 200 MiB, or 209,715,200 bytes. A source must report a valid file size, and device resources still matter. For a larger file, obtain a smaller permitted original or use the source’s own download option.
A public webpage may not provide an approved direct media file or permission to download. Social-platform downloads are currently unavailable here. The downloader also rejects login-only, private, protected, segmented and otherwise unsupported sources.
It means the website has received the file and handed it to your browser. Complete any save prompt and check the browser’s Downloads list. If saving did not start automatically, use the visible Save file button before leaving the page.
