Find a copy from the Facebook account that published it
For an upload you own, start with Facebook’s own information tools. A saved post in your feed is only a reference to that post.
- Check your original event recording, camera roll or organization’s media archive first.
- For your own Facebook account data, review its information download options in Accounts Center.
- Choose the Facebook account involved and review the export choices offered there. Keep unrelated personal information private.

Start with the event or page that produced the video
An event recording can pass through a camera operator, an editor and the person who publishes to Facebook. Before looking for a download, establish which copy you need and who keeps it. A full recording, a highlight cut and a vertical announcement serve different purposes even when they cover the same event. Ask for the finished export by event name and date instead of describing it only as the Facebook video. If you manage the page, maintain a small record linking each published post to its original file, editor and approved audience.
Separate post links, Reels and completed recordings
Facebook shares may open a video post, a Reel, a page or a shortened fb.watch address. A live or replay viewing page is also a page rather than a completed file URL. InstaxVideo can identify Facebook sources but does not resolve them into downloadable media. The distinction matters when a team sends you a link expecting a video attachment. Request the recording itself or use the original publisher's account options. A different Facebook URL, a group invitation or an embedded player will not supply the direct media file this downloader requires.
Keep audience access separate from a shared file
Consider who should receive the recording before choosing where to store it. A public page announcement and an internal group meeting can look similar in a feed while having different intended audiences. If viewing depends on membership, an invitation or signing in, that access should remain inside the authorized account flow. Do not turn an internal recording into a public file just to use a downloader. For material the organization has approved for public distribution, ask the media owner for the intended release copy. InstaxVideo does not accept Facebook credentials or retrieve private group media.
Build a useful archive for a team or organization
Keep a consistent naming pattern that your colleagues can understand, such as event-date-topic-final, and store a short note identifying the recording owner. Retain a full master separately from any social highlight cuts. Meta documents information-download tools for Facebook accounts in Accounts Center; those tools may help you review your own published material. They are separate from the project archive you maintain for your organization. Inspect recovered files locally and avoid sharing unrelated account information with teammates. A clear folder structure is useful even if the original post later becomes difficult to find.
Review a long recording before calling it complete
A thumbnail and a plausible filename do not show whether a recording contains the entire session. Play the opening, a point near the middle and the ending. Check that speech is audible and that any presentation slides or on-screen text are readable. If the event had several camera files, confirm that the intended editing export combines them in the correct sequence. InstaxVideo does not join parts, repair an incomplete source, extract a live stream or create an HD version. For a corrected copy, return to the editor or recorder that produced the original.
Use this page for a permitted direct-file transfer
For the current working flow, the recording must be a completed media file served over HTTPS from an approved host. At present that host is instaxvideo.com. The original sample demonstrates the same parse, result and download steps without needing Facebook access. Inspect the actual size offered before saving, keep the page open until the transfer finishes and then check the browser's download location. The browser may show a save prompt instead of choosing a folder automatically. A recorded event outside the site's source or file limits needs the publisher's authorized delivery route or an operator review.
Have an approved original file instead?
The working downloader accepts approved direct HTTPS media links. Confirm permission, check the actual file, then select Download. A direct video URL offers its original format; audio appears only when the source is an actual supported audio file. Only the formats actually supplied by a supported source are offered for download.

Questions & answers
Can this Facebook video downloader save a public post?
Facebook downloads are currently unavailable on InstaxVideo, including public posts and fb.watch links. The downloader on this page works for approved direct media files. Public visibility does not make a Facebook page into one of those files.
Will being a page administrator make the link work?
Your role may help you find the original or the platform's account tools, but it does not enable a missing integration here. Ask the person who recorded or edited the video for the final file, and keep the page's publishing record alongside it.
Can I download a video from a group I belong to?
The service does not use group membership, account logins or invitation links. Keep restricted material within the tools approved by its owner. Do not publish a private meeting recording simply to create a public URL for a downloader.
What should I do with a Facebook Live recording?
Work with a finished recording made available by its owner after the event. InstaxVideo does not capture ongoing broadcasts, process segmented playback streams or extract a replay from its Facebook page. Verify the start, end and audio of the completed file before archiving it.
Can I save the full event and a shorter highlight cut?
Keep each completed export as its own file and label them clearly. The downloader does not create highlights or trim recordings. If both files have approved sources and meet the current limits, each can be checked individually rather than as a batch.
Where will the recording go after I download it?
The website hands the completed file to your browser's download system. Look in its Downloads list, default Downloads folder or the location you chose in a save prompt. Open the file there before moving it into a shared team archive.
